Dover Street Market Concept Store Expands

Dover Street Market is perhaps the most iconic fashion store in London. It was among of the first real concept stores, when it opened 12 years ago. The new, much larger store is a testament that fashion can have a lasting presence despite the fast moving markets.

The architecture and interiors in the historical, listed building could not be more different compared to the first, original store. The high ceilings and vast spaces (35,000 square foot) give a perfect setting for unique art and eclectic mix of decorative spaces to be appreciated properly. Rei Kawakubo herself is responsible for the interior design. Each floor has a different identity. The store caters her label Comme des Garçons and a huge collection of both established and new brands. Like any true original, the brand has has managed to stay relevant for more than a decade.
