This year’s Serpentine Pavilion is designed by Francis Kéré from Burkina Faso. He is the first African architect to design the Pavilion; following the more recent, posistive direction of choosing emerging architects rather than well known names to design the building.

A solo exhibition by British artist Greyson Perry has opened in Serpentine Gallery, London. It’s called The Most Popular Art Exhibition Ever! Perry is best known for his social commentary and award winning ceramic work, but this exhibitions covers art using variety of materials: wood, stone, cast iron, bronze, printmaking and tapestry.
Flexible, colourful and cosy workspace was one of the key themes at this year’s Clerkenwell Design week. Many designs looks like they are meant for a relatively short ‘pitstop use’ with little emphasis on the ergonomics and more on lounging and relaxing than serious work. In this year’s show the exhibitions were more spread around the area than before, concentrating on furniture and less on traditional craft. Continue reading
Eduardo Paolozzi was first in few areas in art; e.g. introducing pop art. He is probably best known for collage works, which look surprisingly fresh and timeless today. Especially, the unfaded strong colours of 60’s palettes are fantastically trendy right now. Continue reading
