Cabinet of Curiosities

Dominocabinet, Number 5 (Limited edition of 6) by Schelling & Borsboom at London Design week was made entirely out of domino blocks.

This carefully crafted cabinet of curiosities has also a secret section. The domino pattern functions also as a camouflage hiding  the partitions of the cupboards increasing the effect of the sense of wonder that is typical for cabinets of curiosities.

We see more and more ‘objects with stories’ that combine materials and elements taken from away from their original use and being put together in a new design. They have a more diverse origin and roots and can tell a unique, sometimes a surprising story.
