Makers in residence during the Clerkenwell Design Week 2012. The increase of In Residence programs is part of the trend that brings ‘the backroom’ into the ‘front room’. By this we mean the growing need to emphasis the value of hand work and laborious craft making processes.Labour intensive manufacturing is not going to disappear as population keeps growing in many parts of the world. Instead, there is even talk about introducing more need for work to using labour intensive processes into the less developed countries.
