Pop ups at London Design Week 2012

Pop up design at this year’s had a very strong DIY look and feel. The Pop up restaurant at the main exhibition by Aberrant Architecture was called the 100% club and it was formed from a latticed timber structure that is animated with 200 hanging tea towels. Each tea towel features a unique game of snakes and ladders that reveals an exciting new future trend in kitchen and bathroom design or a previous prediction that failed to catch on. The idea of the “Supper Box” structure originates from 17th and 18th century Britain, when they where popular, and created for an entertainment place, where people could enjoy a light lunch.
